A few weeks ago I asked this question on my facebook page and I got some great responses. I will share them with you now and if you have anything to add, please feel free!!!!!!!
Adoption is...
...God's love given twice.
...AMEN! Our son's birthmother just flew in today to spend the weekend with us and go to our adoption agency's annual picnic. We are all very excited and feeling the love!
...A blessing in disguise, worth it but hard. Amazing.
...Fostercare Adoption is like...a box of chocolate....you know the rest. (it's okay to laugh).
...a learning experience.
...a journey.
...An adventure.
...the gift of a life of love for the child (me) from all involved.
...Amazing. It's hard for awhile but worth every tear.
...the hardest decision I have ever had to make but the most important one....
...Joyful, sad, hard, but rewarding.
...loss for all BUT life, choices, families and LOVE
...a heart stretching, charity teaching, life healing miracle.
...bittersweet. (from a birthmom's point of view)
...I agree and that has been my one word for it for a while now. And was it on your blog Kelsey a while back, "One's greatest accomplishment and biggest regret" (Still trying to find where I said this...)
...Never let it be a regret! Being adopted has been a gift to me EVERY day & I'm about to turn 40! ♥
...my life, my love, my CHOICE.
...Difficult and heartbreaking and yet, when it works well, so rewarding.
..."bittersweet joy." (especially placement.) it is also "more family." really felt that this weekend as we chatted with our oldest's birth mother. man, she is the coolest.
...The greatest thing you never knew you wanted!
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts with me...does anyone else have something to add? Please DO!
Also, don't forget to check out the Bloggers Unite Adoption Awarness button at the top of the blog. Let your voice be heard and let's make the changes that need to be made in adoption!

Kelsey, thanks for this! I'm going to be posting a blog post with this same title tomorrow, but with a different emphasis. I love all of the answers. I remember which one was mine, and I think I'd like to add eye-opening. There's so much more to learn about life through adoption.
P.S. I haven't posted about you or your book yet, that post is coming very soon, I promise.
Okay, I actually changed the title of my blog post, but I did refer to this one!
Hi Kelsey,
My best wishes to you for writing a book on Adoption. It certainly would be a major intervention for an adoptive family and /or a child. Also, you seem to be a like minded person with a heart that could inspire love and feat over melancholy for those who aspire to give and get love. I too have shared my thoughts on adoption through my post(Adoption Is A Detour Of Love). You may like to visit it and share your comment.
Thanks
